Rondeau Provincial Park Adventure

We went camping at Rondeau Provincial Park south of Ridgetown on Lake Erie. I have been to over 10 Provincial Parks over the years and several conservation authorities and I have to say this is the nicest one I have been to.Rondeau Point has Lake Erie on one side on Rondeau bay on the other

Google map showing Rondeau

The first day was unpacking and down to the beach. The water was warm. The next day was rainy so we decided to find a local winery and did. The winery was Smith & Wilson. We tried a few and wow the had some great wines. We wandered around as the rain had stopped. Before we went there we went in to Blenheim to pick up a few things we forgot. Isn't one of Murphy's Laws. When you go camping you always forget to pack something you need even though you have a pre-made camping bin or two.

The  Smith & Wilson Winery, was an excellent little discovery the wines were amazing that we tasted we had to buy a few. If you like wine I suggest you make a trek to Blenheim to discover this little winery.

The wonderful view of the winery looking out over Lake Erie

We even had a little helper each day he helped with the dishes as it went on he got better

There was a day at the Beach enjoying the sun Mattis made a new friend her name was Paisley they got along great and had fun together.

Yes he had to hold her hand when we walked to the beach the next day.  There campsite was next to ours.

Mattis and I went on a hike on the Marsh Trail he had a blast I had to carry him back his little legs did about 2 km out of the 3 km hike.  I had to carry him back the rest of the way he fell asleep in the car before we left the parking lot.  I then went on another trail on Wednesday afternoon called the Tulip Bush trail.

The Little Hiker trekking along the trail having a blast

Sunset over Rondeau Bay.

Mattis did some Kayaking he loves Kayaking here he is pretending to Kayak he did ride along with Mel in the Kayak.

It was a fun adventure that had to come to an end but we found a new place to go for family adventures and camping.

Another Weekend gone

Why do the weekends go by so quick that is the thing I can't figure out
We spend our lives working so we can have all the luxuries not that I am against it.
We work 5 days get 2 days off.  Spend more time at work then with our families.

At least I get to see the things Mattis does he is crawling all over now and yesterday drove the shopping cart.
Yes at Sobeys they have carts with steering wheels so the kids can think  they are in control.

I will try to psot a pic later of this just don't have the time this morning.

A growing Little Mattis

It is amazing how quick kids grow especially in there earlier years. Our little guy is 8 months and wow has he changed. He has gone from not being able to do much of anything to being a curious little boy.
He is now eating toast and enjoying it. When they are born you think it will be forever before I will get a good night sleep or they will doing this or that but voila before you know it they are doing something incredible.

Holding themselves in the bath using you as a chew toy. They are small milestones but yet all so monumental in some small way that make you proud of that little human.

They frustrate you but yet you can't help but love them as they are demanding but don't really ask for that much from life. All they really ask for is to be loved and for your wisdom on life.

It makes you realize there is much more to life then what is going on even in Toronto as I write this article. Yes the G20 summit and all its protests really mean nothing when you are a parent enjoying your children as they are some how more important. It could be since you can control it to some reason but can't control the idiocy of the rest of the world.

In 8 months he has gone from sleeping eating and crying to smiling interacting playing and making unique sounds and gestures. He has developed a personality all his own. Well maybe a combination of Mum and Dad Serious and Silly. He love to do what we do well at least try he loves the computer. Well at least pounding on the keys. He has managed to open programs and send e-mails while pounding away.

Here is a video from today of the Mattis man

I am truly enjoying what father hood brings to ones life and am looking forward to the growing Mattis discover the world around him
