Ode to a Princess

Is she from a time in the past
Is she from the future
Is she medieval
Is she beautiful
Is she an Angel

If a princess was beside you would you know
Would you know if a Princess was with you
Do you kneel before and bow
A princess in your midst
A Princess at your side

A princess so perfect and beautiful
A Princess the envy of the kingdom
A princess one by the chivalry of a brave knight
A princess in the eye of her kingdom
A princess in the tower of beauty

Is she a damsel in distress
Is she the hostage of a dragon
Is she under the spell of a great magician

She is a wonderful person
With a heart of gold
With a soul of pure silver
She rests safely in the Arms of her knight
Under the guard of his watchful kingdom

Behind every great and chivalrous knight is a great princess
A princess whose heart he has won
A princess whose heart he loves
A princess whose soul he will protect

The princess a being of devine power
The princess a being of knowledge and wisdom
She is an angel and yet she is not frail
She is no more the devil but is a symbol from above

She is the guardian of a wonderful force
She is the carrier of creation
She is a nurturer
She is a creator
She is my wife
She is my best friend
She is the most wonderful person I know

The Raven

Through the eyes of the raven the world began

Through the eyes of the raven we are bound

Through the eyes of the raven the worlds have opened

Through the eyes of the raven we have been brought together
The Raven will be our spirit guide
The Raven will protect and guide us

Through the eyes of the Raven the path will be seen
Through the eyes of the Raven we will be free

The Raven will be our guide

When the Raven brought us together the world around us became a better place
When the Raven channeled the path the worlds began to align
When the Raven opened the door we met

The Raven will be our guide

The Dragon Dancer

In the night there is a person of beauty
In the night there is the most ravishing beauty in the world
In the night this raven haired beauty with silky hair
Dances with Dragon

The creature is as a tame as a kitty around her
The raven haired dancer rides atop the dragon
With her beauty radiating for the world to see
The Dragon Dancer atop the Dragon

The two together creating a poetic dance
The two together flowing as one
The Dragon is not in control nor is the Dragon Dancer
The beauty of the two together is pure heaven

It is like a scene made in heaven
The two are one
The Dancer atop the Dragon with her silky hair blowing in the wind
The dragon at peace with dancer

These two together bring a calm to the world around them
The Dragon and the Dancer as one

The Dancer atop so beautiful the Dragon Dancer controlling the Dragon
The Dragon Dancer displays confidence out of this world
The Dragon Dancer together with the Dragon
The Dragon Dancer taming the world around her
The Dragon dancer in complete control of the world around her
The Dragon Dancer so at peace she is aware of those that care for her

The Dragon Dancer so majestic upon the dragon her trust stead
The Dragon Dancer holding the key between worlds
The Dragon Dancer so miraculous upon her dragon
The Dragon Dancer the essence of life

The Dragon Dancer in control of the world around her
The Dragon Dancer my love
The Dragon Dancer my friend
The Dragon Dancer the truth in my life
The Dragon Dancer I am proud to call my life mate
Together the Dragon Dancer and I are one
Together we are equals above nothing else
The Dragon Dancer embraced in my arms
The Dragon Dancer in the arms of her dragon

In the Arms of her Dragon forever
And the Dragon in the embrace of the Dancer

Why Me

This poem I wrote after watching something on TV. a young girl was sitting alone in a corridor in a hosptital I was not depressed or anything when I wrote this one.

I’m in a vacant hallway
All alone no one is around
Why am I hear
Why Me!  Why Me!

The walls are white
and everyone has left me here all alone
There is no one here that seems to care about me
Why Me!  Why Me!

The corridor is long and narrow no one at either end
I’m all alone
There isn’t anyone around I know
Why am I all alone
Why Me!  Why Me!

I seem to do everything right in my mind
But in the mind of others it is not
Why can’t I be in the right with people around me.
Why does everyone always leave me alone
Why am I in this white corridor all alone.

It isn’t my fault I can solve this on my own
I don’t need your help?
You don’t know me I know what is good for me
Get out of here I can deal with this on my own

Here I am all alone in what seems like prison
Everything is closing in around me
No one seems to listen to me
But they keep telling me what I should be doing.
Why Me!  Why Me!

This white corridor is getting longer and longer it was once short
It is longer than I ever thought possible
The door is know a little speck at the far end of a wall that seems miles away
How can I ever get close to the door and get out of this corridor
I keep walking towards the door but it remains the same distance away

I have to get out of here but how
I can’t reach the door it seems to be moving further with each step
Why Me!  Why did I end up here why Me.
How did my life end up so far out of reach.

I Wish he Was Still Alive

The Poem below was written several years after my father passed away from throat cancer. It was written in June 1997

 The years pass by
and the pain is still there
It is no as strong or as rampant as at first
It doesn’t get easier it seems to remain the same at certain times

You wish he was here
So you could share
In his great knowledge and wisdom once again
So you could ask for guidance
or so you could just talk

The more you think about him the more you wish he was here
So you could hear them talk and laugh with you.

But inside you know that you are the way you are because of him
He guided you and molded you to be like him
He gave you your values and your views.

Therefore he will always be part of you
And will Always be with you
Because parts of him are inside you forever.

The Knight

The Mist closes around him
As he awaits to see what is looming in the shadows
He stands with sword in hand, ready.
Waiting for the right time to attack

The wait grows longer and longer as the mist grows thicker
Finally he can wait no more and lunges in the shadows
Wielding his sword in a frenzy
The two foes meet.

One is dressed in silver the other in black

The sound of metal on metal begins to ring
The sounds of battle are know echoing through the midnight sky

The battle rages on through the night
With no sign of either foe tiring.

Finally the battle ends and the mist slowly lifts
But yet you can not see who won;
The light gets brighter as the sky rises towards the heavens
Now all you see is a suit of armor hanging in a tree looking down
And on the ground you see a man with his own sword stuck in his side.
